No, I tell you, it’s not just an overpriced grapefruit! And you had better enjoy them now because the citrus season ain’t hanging around 4ever and two months from now you don’t want to be thinkin about that pommelo you forgot to eat back in February.
I confess that I have never tried this fruit. It intrigues me and I will definitely try one of these days!
I tried Pummelos a few years ago by accident. I thought it was a lkarge grapefruitlike they used to have about 30 years ago. Don’t know what happened to them and when grapefruits became the siuze of large oranges. Anyway when i tried themn i was greatly surprised. They are better than any grapefruit. Sweeter and tastier. I have been eating them ever since. However people shoyuld be warned that they are so good that they become addictive. I have cut them into sections and then take the skin off. Keep them sections in the refrigerator and have some beforfe each meal…..what A great appitizer.
I love love love pummelos! My husband and I like to try new things and we saw these in the store once and bought them… they ARE SOOOO good. i just got done eating one too! lol. I wasn’t so sure i would like them. The skin on the outside has a very strong smell.
[…] How is it pummelos cost more, though they are the same thing? These fruits are smaller than some I’ve seen. Like all citrus, now is the time to get them because they won’t be available too much longer. Serving up the hottest dishes on WordPress.com. Featured on FoodPress Crack Pie […]
