I’d been thinking of eating at this restaurant, but then it closed down for a few months. The owners had been having all-night dance and booze fests, but the nearby homeowners objected to the noise, drunks using yards as toilets, and prostitutes. The restaurant is open again – I’m not so eager to dine there, but I like looking in the windows.
what restaurant is this? That’s nuts about the prostitutes!
btw there was an excellent write up in the New Yorker about an Italian place in Bed-Sty. Yes, Bed-Sty. It sounds delish and not too pricey

It’s El Gavilan, at the corner of E. 4th and Church Ave. The food is Mexican and Italian, though people say the pasta tastes like it came from a can. The Mexican is supposed to be a little better. Saraghina, the Bed-Sty place, sounds definitely more interesting!
