I was drawn to Seersucker from across Smith Street by its neat and orderly front window, though it wasn’t clear what sort of business it was. My guess was plant boutique, then I saw the menus posted to the right. The restaurant, specializing in southern food, has been open about six weeks, and reviews have been mixed. The fried chicken and biscuits have fans, but the main complaints center around blandness, serving size, and price. For example: $12 glasses of wine and plain deviled eggs served three halves to a plate.
That is funny: the same thing happened to me in Greenwich Village the other day. I see this guy watering a lovely arrangement of potted plan in front of what I thought was a flower shop. I mean, I have seen florists that looked way less “flowery” than the place in question. And I realized it was actually a restaurant. I would remember where if I had taken a picture… 😉
