The business is gone, but the sign remains. Third Avenue is a flat strip of road favored by drivers in a hurry. More bars and restaurants are moving onto the avenue, a.k.a., Gowanus. The feeling is in the area is otherworldly; not unpleasant, just unlike any part of Brooklyn that’s recognizable.
