There’s a new deli on Church Avenue. What matters are the banners, which lend a festive feeling to about 20 feet of the block. The grand opening continues as long as the store decides, or until the banners decay and fall down.

Pick out a certified used car, though it’s hard to see through the chain link and the razor wire. Northern Bay Ridge is known for automotive businesses, fruits and vegetables, and subway tracks. Leif Ericson Park is also nearby.

The shadows are more interesting than the banners. The harsh late-winter light creates some nice effects.

There’s likely a word to describe a moon that is 40% full, but I don’t know it. The sky and the banners were so interesting I forgot what was on the asphalt underneath; nothing interesting.

pathetic banners

It’s not art, but a store that doesn’t care what you think of it. Those banners have been up for many seasons, seen a lot of weather. I like all the criss-crossing lines.
