I didn’t believe it when I first heard there was a Shake Shack in Brooklyn, but it’s true. The NY Times says the Fulton Mall is going upscale. There used to be a pizza place here – if you have jury duty and want a cheap slice, you’ll have to look around.

The late afternoon sun bounces off the correctional facility and what might be the borough’s longest street name, when it’s hyphenated like that: Boerum Place – Brooklyn Bridge Boulevard.

Maybe the artist was looking for a quick getaway, or the degradation of the cardboard is part of the piece. Nearby is some very colorful fence painting, so this subtle panel creeps up on you… Look, it’s Bette Davis!

A small white belt goes with everything, even a pink sidewalk. This small belt was seen near the Brooklyn Marriott, between the hotel and the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Boston Terrier Gone Brooklyn has made a trip to ancient Egypt and came back as Anubis. Too bad he didn’t keep his little hat. Here, at Tillary Street, is a bike and pedestrian entrance to (& exit from) the Brooklyn Bridge. People who have come from Manhattan stop and ask, “Where the hell am I and where is the closest subway?” (A large map is nearby.) This is not the hip and scenic Brooklyn they have been hearing about. FYI, the guy in the photo is wearing a t-shirt of the Milky Way galaxy that says “You are here.”

It’s not easy to read the newspaper wearing gloves. The weather is warmer now, but people are used to bundling up. We’ll get out of that habit soon.
