That bulldog has an agenda and the muscle to get to get his way. He cares not a whit that the water on the street leaves gray spatters on everything, even a lovely fur coat and a face only a mother could love.

The worst is supposed to be over weather-wise – no record temperatures are predicted for today. We won’t be visiting the “century mark” as the weather forecasters like to say when it’s over 100 degrees.

People are sitting out on Fourth Avenue and enjoying the weather. For real. The busy thoroughfare has, in spots, turned into a destination. Cafe 474, near the Fourth Ave. F stop, opened a couple months ago, and they are serving snacks and fair-trade coffee.

The pit bull’s owner said, “He’s friendly,” as he snapped the leash back on. The mutt in camouflage isn’t so sure. No kids were in the playground, so dog owners had the run of the place.
