Powerhouse Books is Dumbo’s bookstore and an exhibition and performance space as well. It’s the kind of place you might walk into thinking about one kind of book and walk out with another in your hand. Willem Dafoe was on April’s card announcing store events.

61 Local is a bar, but don’t take your dog there. The rule, generally, in Brooklyn, is that it’s okay to bring babies and kids to bars, especially during the day, but dogs are not allowed unless you sit at a sidewalk table. The Department of Health may have a completely other set of rules on the topic.

All the dogs took a dip in the pond (they have a small section of their own). Humans remarked on the heat and humidity, but Prospect Park wasn’t too crowded for a Monday holiday.
