The fence says Post No Bills; it says nothing about surreal painted scenes and wordplay. A new building is going up across from the subway terminal. I doubt the storefronts will be as interesting as these paintings on plywood.

The Boston Terrier Gone Brooklyn has made a trip to ancient Egypt and came back as Anubis. Too bad he didn’t keep his little hat. The plywood fence where Brooklyn Bridge Blvd. meets Atlantic has been repainted. The current motif is ancient Egypt. Interpreting the many images and words will keep us busy until the pain fades.

This mural was painted to encourage kids to sign up for classes so they could freely kick each other and fight with sticks. Now it’s faded and retro, maybe painted back when break dancing and spray painting subway trains were the things to do.
