Looks like a loaf of white bread in a special plastic bag. You’d think that cooks who start from scratch might use fancier bread. But I’m not the one to ask, because I always thought stuffing came in a bag with the words Pepperidge Farm on it.

The bread wants your attention

If the store wants to sell bread, marking down prices works better than any stickers. There are some loaves of store-brand white bread going for 49 cents this week, and they will sell for that reason alone.

The sign went up on the freezer door for the 4th of July and has stayed by the boxes of sausage since. The juxtaposition might be depressing if it weren’t so strange.
