You might be able to see this marvelous installation before it comes down this weekend. In the sunlight, the envelopes catch the light and seem to float in the air. The artist is Spencer Merolla and the location is The Glass House, a small outpost of the Invisible Dog Gallery, on Bergen Street near the F Train stop.

Yeah, we’re very cool in Brooklyn, as you’ve heard. But when there’s a TV series shooting in a central location, we crowd the sidewalks and wait for a small glimpse of a star or any little bit of entertainment action. (They were filming Homeland and there was nothing to see!)

This big smile is from a subway ad on which people are talking about how they saw something suspicious and reported it to the police. They are happy to be good citizens. The message: we must remain vigilant (even though suspicious objects are innocuous almost 100% of the time). You never know.

Hurry and get on down to the Salvation Army on Atlantic Avenue to take a nostalgia road trip on this pink banana bike. Though it’s a little hard to make out, the chain guard’s printed with this beaut’s name: Pink Lady.
