I often feel like I am trapped inside a New Yorker cartoon waiting for a caption.

The Pavilion Theater, I mean Cinema

A true story: A couple weeks ago I went to the movies outside Washington, DC, and not once prior to the show did they ask the audience to silence their cellular devices.
The buzz on the Pavilion is that the movies look good, being “true digital” and everything, but the facilities and screens are in need of repair. It’s a neighborhood theater; people go here because it’s close. Given the current selection, it might also be that they are in the mood for a big screen experience rather than a particular movie. You choose: dog, dog, mouse, fake Nazi, scifi remake, dramatic vehicle, comedic vehicle, I want an Oscar, yet another kid movie, etc., etc.
