I’m still sitting on the F Train bus from yesterday, and working on a theory about fat and sedentary Americans. Note the gas station prices: gas is nearly $4.00 a gallon and cigarettes are pushing $10.00 a pack. If a person is buying gas, they are likely not getting as much exercise as someone who takes public transportation or does not have a car. More importantly, with prices being high, a half dozen donuts, on sale for $3.99, is going to seem a bargain. Who can resist? The triumvirate of evil – smoking, lack of exercise, unhealthy food – merge at this gas station.
