The police department isn’t saying why there’s no parking on Court Street and in front of the Municipal Building; they don’t have to. I like the personal, handwritten touch: Tow Away, 8 AM.

The building by Borough Hall is being re-habbed. We’ll have to wait and see what that means. The exterior still looks the same; it’s not easy to update these old office buildings that are found in downtown Brooklyn.

The groundhog said there will be two more weeks of winter and that we should dress appropriately (avoid wearing miniskirts) and try to stay away from crowded places where people are coughing and sneezing.

I like a Christmas tree so buried in decoration that you have to look to find the tree underneath. Tinsel is a little rare these days; maybe that’s why it seems kinda special.

what to see

Movies are opening at a fast and furious pace for the next few days. This year there are some that are getting excellent reviews. I think they are for grown-ups, though, so buy the kids lots of candy and drag them along. Go to the tiger movie if you’re worried about violence or reading subtitles out loud.

This is some sort of baby raingear, I think. Those plastic things that go over a stroller work well, but some parents would rather have their tot zipped onto their chest. It’s more intimate, for sure, like extending pregnancy for another year or so.
