The nativity figures near the downtown courthouse are old-style, but in good condition. The heavy white string holding up the angel looks borrowed from a school play, though. Ironically, we expect our plastic figures in midair to give the illusion that they are really flying.

Newer Christmas decorations are sometimes inflatable. Figures, close up, tend to look like pool toys. Here, Joseph appears to be enjoying a celebratory cigar, and the donkey looks like Eeyore.

I’ve seen a few nativity scenes recently. This one’s traditional, showing signs of wear. Most importantly, Jesus seems to be missing. I will check back later to see if he makes a last-minute appearance.
