That’s where they are doing track work, on the subway bridge that crosses the Gowanus Canal and extends from Smith & 9th to Fourth Avenue on the F Train. An overcast day is great for taking pictures – no shadows or squinting. The haze has a way of making things either sharp or fuzzy. That’s my scientific explanation.

The MTA was so busy putting the fare increase into effect earlier this week that they didn’t publicize news of the extension of the G Train to Church Avenue starting tomorrow, July 5. For F Train riders from Fourth Avenue to Church, this is a big event – more trains means less waiting.
