This humble building is where the “Excellent Laxative” was invented by an immigrant pharmacist in 1906. After twenty years, Ex-Lax was the most popular over-the-counter laxative. By 1981, Ex-Lax had long been sold to larger manufacturer, and the factor building was converted into 57 coop apartments. All that remains of Ex-Lax is the name over the front door.
