Brooklyn comes to midtown in the form of a food truck selling lobster rolls. They bring in the lobsters from Maine several times a week to their home base in Red Hook, but the truck is their main dispensary. Don’t saunter up to the Van Leeuwen ice cream truck looking for ice cream on a stick; this is a high-class, high-fat frozen treat. Van Leeuwen is a small, local company with three trucks. They want to educate the consumer about their philosophy of simplicity and the specialness of their products. Still, a Froz-Fruit is better for your heart and more refreshing when it’s 95 degrees out.
