strawberry

We call these red licorice, though others will argue that they aren’t licorice at all. I chanced upon this arrangement in the street around 6:45 PM. It looks like one person was explaining parallel lines to another then gave up when some cars came through.

These objects don’t often appear together:  a 19th century novel about the Civil War and a My Pretty Pony figurine, but there they were, set out by the sidewalk for the taking. What I also find curious is the green apple on the pony’s side.

As of this afternoon, The Avengers at the Court Street movie theater was sold out until tomorrow. This crummy, broken souvenir may still be on the sidewalk in front of the burger place across the street, though.

When the vehicle gets malodorous, get another Little Tree, then the first week in January, plop the whole mess by the curb and start all over again. There must be 7-8 Black Ice air freshners here, and more were nearby. (This is a color picture, by the way.)

Cinderella and Dora the Explorer, two cartoon girl-women that couldn’t be further apart personality-wise, came together as playing cards on a Sunset Park sidewalk. Ironically, Cinderella, from the 1950 movie, has a body that is more realistic, proportionally, while the cheerful Dora, who didn’t come along for another fifty years, is burdened by a gigantic head and abbreviated body.

Seen in the street. Is it a coincidence that fresh (real) strawberries are in season at the stores? Of course not! The maple seeds are included for a natural touch.

Add a spoon to this set-up and it becomes a kitchen.  With a little rearranging and imagination, it could be a tiny beaver dam, or something else. Anyone getting hungry? I could really go for a pine cone right now.
