These chairs look pretty nice, no visible defects or signs of excessive wear. The trash men won’t be around until the morning, and I’d bet the chairs will be gone. Many New Yorkers furnish their homes with furniture found on the curb. It’s cheap, ecologically correct, and entertaining. You never know what you’ll find, you learn about your neighbors (do they have good taste, are they fellow trashpickers, do they hoard?), and it’s a creative challenge to envision what a coat of paint can do for a cast-off shelf or table.
