gas?

There are two gas stations in the neighborhood, the name-brand vendor and this one. For the longest time it looked closed, but there was an Open sign on the door and a shadowy figure in the office. If this place was a house, it would be haunted.

The song kept playing, but there were no customers while the Softee truck gassed up. The driver had to get out because the gas tank is in a secret location in the back, by the rainbow sprinkles.

New banners are so bright and hopeful, even when they are on a business that keeps irregular hours and it’s not clear what they do.

Gas rationing is in effect; there were no lines at Shell on Atlantic. But there was a photo student and her model taking pictures in the bright light. She said, Sure, take some pictures. The cops keeping an eye on the gas station thought it was rather amusing.

Can’t help it; every so often I need to take a picture of a gas station at night. For $2.52, you can buy a large quantity of Coke to drink in the car.

I’m still sitting on the F Train bus from yesterday, and working on a theory about fat and sedentary Americans. Note the gas station prices: gas is nearly $4.00 a gallon and cigarettes are pushing $10.00 a pack. If a person is buying gas, they are likely not getting as much exercise as someone who takes public transportation or does not have a car. More importantly, with prices being high, a half dozen donuts, on sale for $3.99, is going to seem a bargain. Who can resist? The triumvirate of evil – smoking, lack of exercise, unhealthy food – merge at this gas station.
