Santa’s out working the crowds for a few more hours @ the site of the Gowanus Yacht Club. It was a good run, but now it’s time to deflate, drink some egg nog, water the reindeer, and take off the mittens.

Membership is open to anyone, the nearest boat is half a mile away, and the Gowanus is a local toxic canal that was recently superfunded. Get it? Good, because beer is the safest drink around here and the next round is on you.

Under the umbrellas, in the side yard of the bagel store, is the Gowanus Yacht Club, open seasonally. Membership happens when you walk through the entrance, and in case you’re not familiar with Brooklyn, there are no yachts, and the Gowanus is an filthy industrial canal that has just been superfunded. Continue the irony – order and enjoy a cold PBR and a hot dog.
