G Trains have been back in service for a few days. They’re as long as regular subway trains and arrive at Church Avenue with passengers. It’s a small mystery. A larger one is why the MTA is claiming it’s too complicated to extend the monthly passes of riders who couldn’t take the trains when the service was out because of the hurricane. Sorry, no can do, they said.

It’s surreal: the nearly-set sun is brighter than the lights of lower Manhattan. Is this a once-in-a-lifetime event? There are so many questions. Hopefully power will be restored soon.
Gowanus storm surge

We are waiting for the storm, Hurricane Sandy. The authorities are warning everyone to stay away from bodies of water. Think about the Gowanus Canal being four feet higher than normal, and RUN to higher ground.
