The lights had just gone on at this station and it was raining a little. The man in the striped shirt was carrying foot-long camera, but wasn’t taking any pictures.

When the sun is going down, the light has a sharp, surreal feeling for a few minutes. Look down the street, under the elevated highway, and you can almost see the possible superfund clean-up site. If it happens, it will be good for the Gowanus Canal and the neighborhood.
