What should you do? Restaurants need customers on days like this, but it’s painful to see the delivery guys riding bikes and scooters on snowy streets. The temperature is about 15, so going to pick up the food is not an option.

Looks like a loaf of white bread in a special plastic bag. You’d think that cooks who start from scratch might use fancier bread. But I’m not the one to ask, because I always thought stuffing came in a bag with the words Pepperidge Farm on it.

There are two gas stations in the neighborhood, the name-brand vendor and this one. For the longest time it looked closed, but there was an Open sign on the door and a shadowy figure in the office. If this place was a house, it would be haunted.

The road is decorated with spray paint; no road work has been done, though. After Prospect Park and Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn levels out, flat as a pancake, all the way to Coney Island.

Vegetable stand on18th Avenue

Track work was being done, so buses replaced subways between 18th Avenue and Jay Street. Passengers were mildly exasperated, but something good happened – I came across this excellent and colorful fruit and vegetable store near the bus stop.
