Yesterday was a washout, literally. Today is already nicer, though there are going to be big puddles and muddy patches. If you’re craving street food this cart is parked between Barnes & Noble and Methodist Hospital. There’s usually a Mr. Softee waiting for people when they walk out the door of the emergency room.

Take this to Methodist and ask around the emergency room to see if any of the doctors are missing this Operation game. Ask for help in removing the funny bone, then change your mind and keep it.

The Purity Diner, at 7th Avenue and 7th Street in Park Slope, has been around forever. While it has upgraded its menu and decor, it remains in its heart a Greek diner, serving up okay, predictable food at not-bad prices. It’s an occasional destination.
