It seemed like a good idea, going to Ikea for a few small items, but many others had the same thought. Winding my way through the crowds and following the arrows on the cement floor was enough to induce fear of the marketplace, so I was glad to come upon the view of the harbor from the second-floor windows for a moment’s respite.

Saturday before Black Friday – people were out strolling, shopping for essentials, and going out for lunch. Traffic in the stores was sparse, despite Christmas decorations. First, we have to get Thanksgiving over with, then we’ll consider the next holidays.
