By the time I got off the F Train, the storm had moved through Park Slope. Traffic was slow on Fourth Avenue, and people were surveying the damage, sweeping up. Trees were down, some cars were smashed, and leaves and litter were everywhere. Part of this laundromat’s brick facade came down. An ambulance was on the scene, but everyone seemed okay; a few people were still inside doing wash.

Gingerbread house escapes

Bay Ridge’s famous “gingerbread house” was lucky; the giant tree fell towards the street. Most, but not all, of the trees that came down in the storm over a week ago have been cleaned up.
