NYC buses tend toward extremes: either fairly fast or slower than walking. This ride, a quick one, was curious for the one guy’s hair. I didn’t know people still put shapes on their scalps, other than at World Series time.

The bus is practical for some routes, but it can be slow, too, and claustrophobic. Sometimes you want to make a quick exit out the back door and just start running, regardless of your destination.

Before 9-11, there were no American flags stuck on the windows of NYC buses. Now, they all have them.
Can trolls read?

If the MTA is going to discriminate against evil-doing Norse creatures, shouldn’t the sign be posted in the front of the bus? On the other hand, if the trolls referred to are the computer variety, to say no to them is only encouragement.

If you take the local shuttle bus that is replacing the F and G trains between Jay Street and Church Avenue this weekend, you’ll enjoy a similar smudged view from the seats on the left. The shuttle trains run frequently, but adding this detour to a trip is still a big nuisance.
