Restaurants and other places serving food are now required to post the Sanitary Inspection Grade they’ve been given by the Department of Health. When you see any grade at all, it’s an A. Hmmm … even some dubious-looking places have A’s up. (I’ve never eaten here; I use it to show what the Sanitary Inspection Grade sign looks like.)

Said Nathan’s to the visitors of Coney Island. I’d just heard that the NYC Department of Health had awarded the famous hot doggerie a grade C for cleanliness, but this did not deter my group from ordering cheese fries and a lemonade. We suffered no ill effects other than regret over the empty calories.
