Restauranteurs hate the grading system as much as the public likes it. Grade Pending can be a bad sign – the restaurant may be appealing a bad grade. Hunger is telling my common sense that everything will be okay, though. I ignore the fly on the window.

Said Nathan’s to the visitors of Coney Island. I’d just heard that the NYC Department of Health had awarded the famous hot doggerie a grade C for cleanliness, but this did not deter my group from ordering cheese fries and a lemonade. We suffered no ill effects other than regret over the empty calories.
