Finally, the pizza place on Fourth Avenue fixed their sign. For months it looked like nothing but a broken sign. This is certainly minimal and direct. Come and get your greasy pepperoni pizza, everyone!

Not the best, not the worst. What can I say, other than I hope more restaurants and pizza parlors move to Church Avenue between McDonald and Ocean Parkway? There are so few decent places to eat or sit and have a coffee that even a Starbucks would be welcome.

Albanese Pizza, Fifth Avenue, between Seventh and Eighth Streets. The consensus is that it’s a not-bad pizza-pasta place, favored by locals for its convenience. The pie that stands out is the Sophia Loren, made with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. Mmmm….

I guess I always assumed that the big guy ate pizza. During breaks he shops at the Great Wall Supermarket next door, which some of you may remember as the Fortway movie theater.
