Playing in the water, of course. Few children at the playground, you’ll notice, are wearing bathing suits. This weather has been so cool that summertime routines are out of whack. Parents don’t automatically dress the kids for water play and bring along towels when heading out.
The boy in the center was making water balloons the size of a cantaloupe. The real fun was about to begin.

What is the truest expression of grass? A tufty, unruly rectangle or a perfectly mown front yard? The spring rain and city’s neglect caused this patch to go haywire. You could lose a soccer ball or a small child in there. It was to be an ephemeral pleasure, though; the city hacked the grass down to nothing just as it attained a resplendent shagginess.
