It’s another world on Coney Island Avenue. Many cultures are represented between Prospect Park and Coney Island. I found the purple brown color of this parking lot visually interesting, along with the sad trees, which will never thrive here, where almost everything is paved.

Sahara, on Coney Island Avenue, is a mega-restaurant. There’s seating for 600, but a line often spills out the front door. The menu is basic Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern, but they do a good job with the kebabs and hummus, and the atmosphere is friendly.
