Back to Seersucker Restaurant for another look; now the deviled eggs are served four at a time. Right now the window has an autumn pumpkin/squash motif and a menu for take-out Thanksgiving food. The pig-out holiday is barely more than a week away, and this Southern food restaurant will make sure to work in some pork products, don’t you worry.

Seersucker, in Carroll Gardens

I was drawn to Seersucker from across Smith Street by its neat and orderly front window, though it wasn’t clear what sort of business it was. My guess was plant boutique, then I saw the menus posted to the right. The restaurant, specializing in southern food, has been open about six weeks, and reviews have been mixed. The fried chicken and biscuits have fans, but the main complaints center around blandness, serving size, and price. For example: $12 glasses of wine and plain deviled eggs served three halves to a plate.
