This neighborhood is waaay cooler than mine. We’ve got some kid’s old gym shoes tossed over the phone line, not crucifixes, real sneakers, and… sneakers cut out of plywood and painted to look to sneakers.

Shoes over the line

Shoe flinging, tossing shoes (most often sneakers) over a phone or power line, has grown in popularity over the past decade. The origins of “Shoefiti” are vague – some places it’s done to mark the end of the school year. To some, the phone lines are another bare surface begging for adornment.
