Gowanus has a new bar, Halyards, on Third Avenue. It’s so fresh that the place smells of wood rather than spilled beer. The bartender is friendly, there’s room to move around, and the dogs (2) outnumbered the babies (0). (That’s not always the case at drinking joints in the vicinity of Park Slope.)
