One sign would not be enough, but perhaps three is too many? No, it’s probably just right, given the way some people drive around here.

The work train is laying some type of cable. If you ride the F Train regularly, you know very well that the Manhattan-bound trains are skipping this station. Work is proceeding slowly.

The rain is stopping today. Imagine this picture with more light and less rain – not a beautiful landscape, but a cheerier one.

You can tell it’s an old sign when there’s a phone number but no area code. This photo is so blown up it looks like a silkscreen. Next door is Chinese food.

This is a new one – cotton as holiday decoration. Maybe it’s supposed to remind us of snow. Better they are selling it here than in Park Slope, where shoppers would be asking, “Is that organic cotton?”
Punkins, carved & ready to go

This is Halloween. Those Martha Stewart-ish creations that involve intricate carving and slicing are nice enough, but a regular old jack o’lantern has abundant charm. This trio looks like it was actually carved by children. Maybe pumpkin carving became an elaborate craft when parents decided that knives don’t belong in the hands of wee folk and took over the responsibility.

She’s gray and looks like a pen and ink drawing. This shouldn’t be an impediment to finding her. The sign tells us what we need to know: a friendly gray cat with green eyes and white face and paws has wandered off. And a piece of her left ear is gone. I think Millie’s had some adventures before this one. Time to go home, girl.

Wait at an isolated bus stop with a camera, take ten steps forward and sideways, and eventually you will find an interesting image to capture.
Leprechaun strikes a Burt Reynolds pose

Who would suspect that a yard leprechaun was even familiar with Burt Reynolds’ Playgirl centerfold? The magazine is no longer around (though Burt is), but this little cement man with the fancy paint job should last for another century.
